The touristic police was established in Tajikistan in early August 2018 under the Environmental Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan.
Today safety is one of the factors influencing the development of tourism. Therefore, in Tajikistan the necessary measures are being taken to make foreign citizens comfortable on our land, so they feel safe while traveling and visiting cultural, historical, archaeological and other sightseeing. It was in these facilities, as well as in the Dushanbe International Airport and at the Railway Station that tourist police checkpoints were opened. Recently, the same checkpoints began to operate in the Hissar fortress and at the Dusti border checkpoint in the city of Tursunzade.
The points are not opened randomly, they are places that foreign and local tourists visit very often.
Today the tourist police works in all regions of the country and are provided with all the necessary equipment. Working closely with the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the country’s travel agencies, the tourist police makes every effort and takes appropriate measures to provide tourists with quality services and ensure their safety.
“Card for a tourist” and “Passport for a tourist” were developed, as well as opened pages in the social networks “Facebook” and “Instagram”.
It must be mentioned that the tourist police in Tajikistan was created to ensure the safety of tourists, provide them with the necessary information, provide assistance, protect interests, and prevent crime among tourists.
