On May 16, in the Palace of the Nation, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received the general prosecutors and heads of the delegations of the member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization, who visited Tajikistan to participate in the meeting of the general prosecutors of the member countries of the Organization.
Honorable President of the country Emomali Rahmon first welcomed the guests to Tajikistan and wished success in their meeting.
During his speech, the Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon, along with accentuating Tajikistan’s continuous interest in cooperation within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization, reflected on the valuable contribution of the member countries in the important areas of this organization’s activities.
“We always emphasize that peace and stability in the ECO region is a key factor for achieving the Organization’s main goal, namely economic development and people’s well-being,” – said the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon.
At the same time, the Head of State mentioned the broad economic potential within the framework of the ECO, and stressed the role of the prosecuting bodies in performing the very responsible tasks of monitoring compliance with the laws and, in this context, ensuring the rule of law, protecting sovereignty, independence, human and civil rights and freedoms, democratic values and interests of state and society.
Honorable President of the country Emomali Rahmon focused on the complex political situation in the world, the increase in threats to the security of countries, the catastrophic consequences of terrorism, manifestations of extremism and political and religious radicalism, transnational organized crime, as well as the subversive actions of extremist movements, and considered it necessary to continue close cooperation among the member countries, especially their branch organs.
The Leader of the Nation emphasized that Tajikistan is a natural partner of all countries in the fight against organized cross-border crimes, including drug and weapons trafficking, and cybercrimes.
Tajikistan’s readiness to strengthen legal cooperation with all friendly countries was once again mentioned at the meeting.
In the end, it was expressed hope that, based on the results of the meeting in Dushanbe, important decisions will be made on the further development of cooperation in the fight against crime and ensuring law and order, security and stability in the countries, which in turn will contribute to the expansion of the economic relations of ECO member countries.
The meeting was also attended by the Attorney General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Saud bin Abdullah al-Mujib, who was invited as a guest.
