On March 11, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Honorable Abdulla Aripov, who arrived in Tajikistan to participate in the next meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Commercial Cooperation.
At the meeting, a set of issues related to the current state and prospects of friendly relations, cooperation and partnership between the two countries were discussed.
Also, issues on the agenda of the next meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Commercial Cooperation, which will start its work in Dushanbe, were reviewed.
Pointing to the growth of bilateral trade, the volume of which reached more than 504 mln. USD last year, it was emphasized that there are still opportunities and resources to multiply this indicator. In this context, the sides focused on the expansion of cooperation in the fields of industry, agriculture, energy, including the production of “green energy” and the development of the “green economy”.
Discussion of ways to enhance scientific-technical and cultural-educational ties was also one of the key topics of the conversation.
